eCommerce Case Study – Halal Food Master
Client
Halal Food Master (HFM) is a rapidly growing online marketplace for Halal-certified products open worldwide. They are based in Kuala Lumpur and established in 2016. They aim to provide convenient, easy, and quality customer shopping experiences as well as provide a reliable and credible platform for vendors.
Industry
Requirement
While the previous system was reliable, they could not scale with the business. Therefore, the client required a scalable B2B2C ordering platform that could support multi-vendors and manage customers effortlessly.
They required web panels for admin, vendor, and customer and an app for customers.
Key Features
- Both the admin and vendor panels are web applications.
- The admin manages everything in the backend such as vendors, customers, products, and platform benefits.
- Vendors require approval and verification from the admin to add their products.
- Customers can purchase products through the web application or the app, available on Android and iOS.
- There are two types of accounts: Normal and Business. With normal customer accounts, they provide their email address, name, and password. For business accounts, they provide the company contact number, the nature of the business, and the company billing address.
- Customers can view detailed product descriptions, and vendor store details as well as chat with vendors directly.
- Customers can also chat with HFM support regarding any issues and queries.
- Customers can shop by category or use the search bar to look for specific products. They can also view trending products on the home page for easy access.
- Customers can add sold-out items to their cart but won’t processed for check-out. Once the items are back in stock, they will receive notifications.
- Customers can avail of vouchers from the HFM platform as well as from the vendors.
- Bulk purchases of products are also available. Customers provide details such as purchase quantity, the unit of measurement, contact number, the date needed, the delivery details, and any other remarks.
- Integration with shipping service providers such as DHL and City-Link allows domestic and international shipping.
- Google Map integration allows customers to track their orders.
- There is also a provision for self-pick-up.
- Customers can through two methods: online or offline. In online payment, customers use the popular Malaysian payment gateway – iPay88. In offline payment, once the customer has paid the amount, a payment proof should be uploaded which needs to be approved by the admin for the order to be processed.
- The site also provides newsletters, recipe blogs, events, and contests for the ultimate shopping experience.
